The guys at Bob Bassett released a newer version of their sapphire knife. The blade of this knife is made out of artificial sapphire, the same material used in high quality non-scratchable jewellery and watches. The handles are made out of wood or bone. The blade itself is extremely hard, and you require a special diamond whetstone to sharpen it.
Seeing that there’s no metal parts in the knife, it cannot be detected using metal detectors, making it extremely easy to take this knife on a plane, bypassing security.
